University of Cambridge - History of Art
Having been rejected previously the student came to us looking for guidance on how to reapply successfully and secure a place to read History of Art. We advised her to take a year out and study a foundation art course. At the same time, we supported her with several pieces of project work which she could discuss at interview. This included attending lectures and reading new literature so she was up to date with current affairs in the Art History world.
University of Cambridge - Economics
Aiming to study Economics at the University of Cambridge, this student faced a tough challenge. Not only did she need to achieve the required grades, she also needed to make herself stand out in her personal statement against many other strong candidates. We provided her with the demonstrable experience to secure an interview. At the interview, the student used techniques taught to her during the bespoke interview coaching to gain a place.
University of Cambridge - Geography
As an overseas applicant, the student was particularly worried about the interview process. We explained that the interviews can be managed if you prepare a strong personal statement and focus on the detail of the topics you have mentioned. We used video analysis to show the student where they could improve their technique and how they could alter their responses to appeal to a UK professor.
University of Cambridge - Law
After moving to the UK, the student had worked hard to secure top A Level grades and set themself on the right course to be invited for an interview. When the student came to us, they needed help to develop the academic evidence of their interest in Law. This is essential for both the Personal Statement as well as the Interview. We focused on building this experience alongside preparation for the written tests.
University of Cambridge - Natural Science
This was an excellent student who had already secured an invitation to interview but was nervous about what would be asked and how they should answer. We set the student up with our Oxbridge Sciences admissions expert who used our bank of past questions to give the student the necessary confidence to go on and do well.
University of Oxford - Chemistry
Our advice is a start-to-end product. We advised the student to apply for Chemistry following on from our free assessment to identify their strengths and weaknesses. Following this decision, we helped them to develop their problem-solving abilities by working through numerous chemistry past questions and problem questions. When it came to the interview, we accompanied the student and made sure the day went smoothly and successfully.
University of Oxford - Fine Art Art
Art applications are significantly different to other academic applications to Oxbridge. The student wanted to know how they could prepare their portfolio to show off their diverse skills. We worked with the family to create a strong portfolio that was supported by a good personal statement. The explanation of the pieces is often an important part of a successful application.
London School of Economics - Geography
The student’s goal was to study Geography at LSE; he was unsure of how to begin his application or prepare any of the required documents. We devised a schedule of application mentoring and tuition to develop his interview skills, polish his personal statement and keep his application on track by highlighting key application deadlines and supporting him to develop his academic record through essay prizes and reading.
Falcon’s Preparatory School for Boys
The student had been studying in China and was moving to the UK with his family with the goal of earning a place at a top London day school. He needed to improve his English and adapt to the UK’s style of teaching and learning. We supported him to develop his confidence and ability in English and successfully turned an initial rejection into an offer by Falcon’s Prep using our contacts and connections.
Wycombe Abbey
The student’s goal was to attend a prestigious UK senior school and she had her heart set on Wycombe Abbey - an independent girls' school ranked as the top all-girls school nationally in academic results. We worked with the student to challenge and stretch her academic ability with our tutors’ expertise in the 11+ process, she performed extremely well in her common entrance examinations and succeeded in securing a place at her dream school.
University of Oxford - Politics, Philosophy and Economics
The student’s goal was to attain a place studying Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oxford University. With the support of a bespoke learning plan and a dedicated team of tutors, Harry consolidated his subject knowledge, crafted a unique personal statement and honed his interview skills. Harry achieved a place at Oxford university and is currently in his 2nd year of study.
Charterhouse School
The student’s goal was to successfully apply to a top UK public school. We worked with her for a year leading up to her 6th Form applications to Charterhouse. As a bright student suffering with low confidence, she was coached outside of a formal classroom setting to reduce the pressure placed on her shoulders and thereby allowing her to explain her ideas more freely. This interview coaching helped her to shape arguments in a natural and confident way.
Winchester College
Whilst academic results are vital in all schools’ application, the interviews are an increasingly important area of focus for registrars. We supported this student through regular mentoring to develop his critical thinking and to improve his conversational English. He successfully gained a place to study at Winchester College.
Rugby College
The student came to us after making several unsuccessful applications to senior schools in the UK. We worked with him to understand the difficulties he had with the testing; namely a narrow vocabulary and insufficient knowledge of grammar rules. With our help, he improved his English and secured a place at Rugby College through the Headmaster’s list.
University College London - Architecture
The student’s goal was to attain a place at UCL to study Architecture. To do so, she created a first class portfolio of work for submission to the university. Our connections allowed her to work in the UCL Architecture studios with a faculty member, thereby receiving excellent guidance throughout the process. After working with the student for a year, she had developed her knowledge of Biomimicry and produced several projects that she used as part of her successful application.
Westminster School
This student suffered from low confidence in their academic skills. We supported the student with a mixture of English, Maths and interview preparation. Thanks to our help, the student managed to pass all 3 rounds of Westminster’s 11+ entry exams successfully and received an offer.
University of Edinburgh - History of Art
Although this student was hard-working and dedicated, they were unfamiliar with how UK university applications should be prepared and submitted. We were pleased to support this student through multiple avenues such as mentoring, subject tuition, personal statement drafting and interview preparation, just to name a few. The student succeeded in receiving offers to study History of Art at York University as well as her intended university: the university of Edinburgh.
University of Cambridge - Mathematics
Through a combination of interview coaching, personal statement drafting, application support and Mathematics mentoring with one of our subject-specialist staff, this student was able to make a first-rate application to study Mathematics at the university of her dreams: the university of Cambridge. Her hard work and our detailed knowledge of university admissions meant that she was prepared ahead of time for every entry requirement that she needed to fulfil to gain admittance to one of the most prestigious universities in the world.
Imperial College London - Chemistry
An enthusiastic student determined to study Chemistry at a prestigious London university, this student struggled with presenting himself confidently and talk about his achievements and strengths. We worked with him to demonstrate how to portray oneself with confidence using our exemplar material. Our breakthrough moment came during one of our study programs when he finally felt he could own his achievements and speak confidently of his experiences.
Shrewsbury School
The student’s goal was to gain admittance to prestigious senior school. However, their organisational skills were severely lacking. We began by setting the student a revision schedule to follow rigourously with regular check-in points. Alongside tutorials to support his understanding in English, maths and science, we were able to support this student to make excellent school applications resulting in his acceptance to Shrewsbury school.
UCL International Pre-Master’s Course
This student is a bright young lady, her goal is to study a competitive masters programme at UCL. In order to improve her prospects, we crafted her application for the International Pre-Masters Course at UCL. This is a great way for international students to improve their skills and build connections with the university before making a successful application for their desired masters programme the following year.
University College London - Project Management
This student had previously applied to study a postgraduate course in a number of universities, however, all her applications were unsuccessful. With our dedicated support and guidance, the student was able to produce a high-quality personal statement and prepare her documents for application. We helped the students to submit new applications to great success. Now the student has a choice for four offers from top UK universities including UCL and KCL.
Merchant Taylors’ School.
We worked with this student over the course of a year to advise their family on the admissions process and to provide English & maths tutorials to improve their ability. With our support, the student received an offer from Merchant Taylors’ School.
