Oxbridge’s hardest courses to apply for
There is no such thing as an easy subject to get an offer for at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge. However, some of the subjects are harder than others and then there are more still which are nightmares.
So which are the hard? Which are harder? Which are the hardest? Let’s take a look.
The (least) Hard Ones.
As I said before, all subjects are difficult, but these are some of the best success rates at Oxbridge.
Land Economy.
Linguistics.
Material Sciences.
Human Sciences.
Languages.
History.
Social sciences tend to be slightly under-subscribed so you can easily target these to increase you chance of success. You can impress the professors in these subjects if you have some skills that they aren’t expecting like maths skills for example. This will give you an edge over more traditional applicants.
The Hard(er) Ones.
These are not too hard and not too easy. Most students end up in this category because they have some of the most interesting and well-known subjects.
Economics.
Engineering.
Natural Sciences.
Chemistry.
Architecture.
The Hard(est) Ones.
These are the devil-subjects. Only the best of the best of the best are likely to win a place on these courses and even then it can be a down to luck on the day. If you really think you have what it takes, then try and take this on.
Computer Science.
Medicine.
PPE.
