Resource of the Week - Past Paper Record
Our resource this week is a very basic resource for tracking your progress with any past examination paper practice that you undertake for your GCSE or A level revision. You can download our past paper record sheet by visiting the past paper practice section of our website or by clicking here.
It is a simple log to determine which past examination papers you have done, your score and general feedback for which sections of the paper you found easy or difficult. Below are our tips for how to get the most out of this resource:
Keep records of your revision to track your progress
The important point is to track your revision and identify what you need to do next to improve. Punctiliousness of records is not as important as giving you direction for what to revise next. Use the WWW (What Went Well) and EBI (Even Better If) columns to log the sections you excelled in and struggled with to determine your next course of action.
Keep a different log for each subject
To clearly track your progress across a subject, keep a separate log for each subject. This will help you to track your marks as you practise and identify what you need to revise next for each subject.
Use Mark Schemes and Examiner reports to fine-tune your Analysis
If you are really struggling to improve your mark for a specific question or paper, consider reading through the mark scheme and examiner report for that paper. This will help to give you a clearer picture of what the examiner is looking for and give you a guideline for writing future responses.
We hope that this resource will be used to track students’ past examination paper practice and identify their areas of success and development. From all of us at Libra Education, never stop learning!
