Oxbridge Application Bootcamp
This course is designed for students who will be applying to start an undergraduate or postgraduate course at the universities of either Oxford or Cambridge in October 2022. The summer holidays are the perfect time to finalise your personal statement and sort your references before submitting your application in October. You’ll have the opportunity to add experience to your academic CV by identifying a project to take on and be shown how to incorporate this into your PS. You will perfect your interview technique and build confidence responding to even the hardest questions.

Oxbridge Application Bootcamp
Turbocharge your Oxbridge university application and put yourself on the path to a successful and stress-free application.
The course is aimed at Oxbridge applicants (age 17-18)
Course timings and dates:
Monday 26th- Friday 30th July 2021
9am-11.15am UK time each day
The first session each day is from 9am-10am followed by a short break. The second session of the day begins at 10.15am and finishes at 11.15am.
The maximum number of students within each group will be 6 students.
Course requirements:
Age 17-18
Intermediate English
A computer with good internet access.
A Zoom login to access lessons.
60 minutes of independent planning tasks between sessions.
Learning outcomes: By the end of the course, the student will have:
Finalised their PS.
Selected their course and college.
Practised for their interviews and entrance tests.
This project is an excellent opportunity for students to strengthen their applications to either the University of Oxford or the University of Cambridge.
Course structure
Students will complete two sessions per day
Session 1:
Process
Students are introduced to the full end-to-end application process including a discussion on any college, course specific tests or work submissions.
Session 2:
Personal Plans and Colleges
Students start to decide on their major and map out the key stages they need to complete between now and starting their course. The teacher provides details on college choices and where to find resources.
Session 3:
Experience Mapping
Students map out their achievements and write summary sentences on what they have done, ready for inclusion in their Personal Statements.
Session 4:
Gap Identification
Based on the teacher’s direction, students identify areas of weakness in their applications and a project that can rectify this. Student begin work researching in their area.
Session 5:
Personal Statement Drafting I
Building on their PS plans, students begin to draft their statements with support from peers and their teacher.
Session 6:
Personal Statement Drafting II
Building on their PS plans, students draft their statements with support from peers and their teacher.
Session 7:
Introduction to Interviews
Students receive mock questions and answers in their subjects alongside an explanation of what admissions teams are looking for.
Session 8:
Interview Coaching
Using Libra Educations’ bank of past questions, students challenge each other to defend their ideas and achievements in an intensive interview setting.
Session 9:
Reference Preparation
Students decide which content should be included within their reference letters and draft these letters alongside their teacher.
Session 10:
Presentations and Knowledge Sharing
Students present their personal statements and their personal development plans to the class.
