G5 Application Bootcamp
This course is designed for students who will be applying to start an undergraduate or postgraduate course at a G5 university in September 2022. The summer holidays are the perfect time to finalise your personal statement and sort your references before submitting your application in October or November. You’ll have the opportunity to add experience to your academic CV by identifying a project to take on and be shown how to incorporate this into your PS.
We are offering a 20% early-bird discount if you sign up before the end of March 2021.

The course is aimed G5 university applicants.
Course timings and dates:
26th-30th July 2021
9am-11.15am UK time each day
The first session each day is from 9am-10am followed by a short break. The second session of the day begins at 10.15am and finishes at 11.15am.
The maximum number of students within each group will be 6 students.
Course requirements:
Age 17-18
English level: Intermediate and above.
A computer with good internet access.
A Zoom login to access lessons.
60 minutes of independent planning tasks between sessions.
Learning outcomes: By the end of the course, the student will have:
Finalised their personal statement
Built their academic experience.
Developed a concrete understanding of what is needed to succeed in the G5.
This project is an excellent opportunity for students to strengthen their applications to a G5 University.
Course structure
Students will complete two sessions per day
Session 1:
Process
Students are introduced to the full end-to-end application process
Session 2:
Personal Plans
Students start to decide on their major and map out the key stages they need to complete between now and starting their course.
Session 3:
Experience Mapping
Students map out their achievements and write summary sentences on what they have done, ready for inclusion in their Personal Statements.
Session 4:
Gap Identification
Based on the teacher’s direction, students identify areas of weakness in their applications and a project that can rectify this.
Session 5:
Opportunity Development
With the support of their teacher, students start their project and write a sound bite to be included in their personal statements.
Session 6:
Personal Statement Planning
Students begin to plan out their Personal Statement paragraph content.
Session 7:
Personal Statement Drafting 1
Building on their PS plans, students begin to draft their statements with support from peers and their teacher.
Session 8:
Personal Statement Drafting 2
Building on their PS plans, students begin to draft their statements with support from peers and their teacher.
Session 9:
Reference Preparation
Students decide which content should be included within their reference letters and draft these letters alongside their teacher.
Session 10:
Presentations and Knowledge Sharing
Students present their personal statements and their personal development plans to the class.
