Libra Education's 2-week Pre-Sessional Course is a full-time and intensive preparation course for undergraduate or postgraduate students holding a university offer for their programme who wish to extend and enhance their academic skills in preparation for their university programme.
We are offering a 20% early-bird discount if you sign up before the end of March 2021.

Pre-sessional course
This course gives students the skillset they need to study successfully at a top University in the UK. Lessons are taught using Oxbridge Tutorial techniques. This means our students need to be self-motivated as they complete assignments in their own time and come ready to discuss their work in one-to-one tutorials. Students are challenged and supported to develop their academic skills every step of the way.

The first session each day is from 9am-10am followed by a short break. The second session of the day begins at 10.15am and finishes at 11.15am.
Course requirements:
A desktop computer with good internet access (Windows, Apple Mac or Linux).
Zoom with permissions enabled for students to share screen and seek remote support.
Additional work as required to be completed independently each day
Learning outcomes: By the end of the course, the student will have:
Developed spoken and written academic language.
Improved study skills and independent learning techniques.
Practised completing assignments in the format required by universities.
This project is an excellent opportunity for students to prepare for pursuing business opportunities in their future career and expand their presentation skills.

Pre—Sessional Course Outline.
Students will learn the accurate use of academic language both when speaking and writing. Students will need to know the key terms associated with their area of interest and be able to apply these efficiently and effectively.
University requirement: Research Techniques
Students must know where to find information and how to judge its reliability. Students need to critically analyse a variety of sources and come to a reasoned and independent opinion: UK universities place high importance on independent thought.
During the course, students will:
Develop critical thinking and communication skills. Becoming familiar with research strategies and methods.
Become aware of the characteristics of a good research report.
University requirement: Academic Writing
Top universities require weekly submissions of writing or calculations that form a key part of students' studies. Each student must be able to structure their responses, justify their opinions and conclude with concise, evidence-based perspectives. Writing must be referenced in full to allow peer review.
During the course, students will:
Produce a clear academic text on complex subject matters.
Develop the ability to write, or calculate, independently and critically.
Operate according to academic conventions. Selecting an appropriate writing style.
Show mastery of a wide range of language. Demonstrating a high degree of grammatical control and accuracy.
University requirement: Presenting Ideas
Students are required to present ideas verbally as well as in written form. Whether in tutorials with a professor or through assessed presentations to their peers, students will need to be proficient in preparing presentation documents and in confident oral delivery.
During the course, students will:
Clarifying objectives of the presentation to the audience.
Structuring a clear, concise and persuasive message.
Exploring creative approaches to make an impact through words or numbers.
Preparing content with a sound structure.
Route Planning
Each course taken is an opportunity to develop the skills needed for your future career. It is important for students to know their long-term goals and to develop an area of specialty that allows them to stand out when applying for graduate jobs.
During the course, students will:
Create a study guide by topic.
Create concept maps and diagrams.
Plot a route through modules and course progression.
